Staff Q and A: Respiratory therapist, Deb Havel

Posted on: January 28th, 2011 by sdavis

Meet our respiratory therapy team. Deb knows first-hand the benefits of sleeping with a CPAP, and she loves to help others get the same relief she experiences.

Where did you go to school?

Deb is a respiratory therapist at CarePro Home Medical.

I graduated from Kirkwood Community College in 2009 with an AA in Respiratory Therapy.

What made you want to become a respiratory therapist?

I always wanted to do something in the medical field but just didn’t know what.  While watching my daughter in her gymnastics class, I met a woman that was a respiratory therapist.  We began talking about the field and she invited me to job shadow her.  I was instantly hooked!

What’s one of the most rewarding things about your job?

Being a CPAP wearer myself, and, knowing the benefits first hand, I love helping others to achieve the same success.

What do you like to do in your free time?

I like to spend time with my family, scrapbook, kayak and read.

If you won a million dollars, how would you spend it?

Once my debt and my families debt was paid off, I would donate the rest to www.nothingbutnets.net
