Staff Q and A: Respiratory therapist, Heather Moore

Posted on: January 26th, 2011 by sdavis

Heather is a respiratory therapist at CarePro Home Medical.

Meet the respiratory therapists of CarePro Home Medical. Heather Moore has been a respiratory therapist since 1996, and when she’s not helping her patients finally get a good night’s sleep, she loves to spend time with her family.

Where did you go to school?

I graduated from Kirkwood Community College in 1996 with an Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy.

What made you want to become a respiratory therapist?

I had always known I wanted to work in healthcare, just could not figure out in what field.  I picked Respiratory Therapy from the brochures at Kirkwood College.

What’s one of the most rewarding things about your job?

By far, the most rewarding moments in my job are when my patients benefit from what I have taught them. I love to hear success stories about how their lives have changed from PAP therapy. Whether it is their spouse has come back to the bedroom or they got to keep their job, I love to hear them all.

What do you do in your free time?

In my free time I love to go to my kid’s activities, read, shop and spend time with family.

If you won a million dollars, how would you spend it?

If I won a million dollars I would pay off my home, put money away for my kids to go to college, donated to a local charity, and go on a tropical vacation.
